Bilim Ülgün, the First Science Turkey Workshop in Montenegro, Opens Its Doors!

"Bilim Ülgün" Science Center Officially Opened in Ulcinj, Montenegro!

The Bilim Ülgün Science Center, launched with the aim of fostering children's interest in science and increasing their engagement with technology, was officially inaugurated on June 2 in the city of Ulcinj, Montenegro. The project was realized in collaboration with TİKA, the Municipality of Ulcinj, the T3 Foundation, and XL Labs, in line with Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative vision.

Part of the Bilim Türkiye Education Programs, Bilim Ülgün offers hands-on workshops for children aged 6 to 14. The center features workshops in Technology, Astronomy and Aviation, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Design, and DENAYAP. These activities aim to enhance children's scientific thinking skills while also encouraging creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Following Azerbaijan, Bilim Ülgün is the second Bilim Türkiye Center to be established under the "Single Workshop Concept," and it stands out as Montenegro’s first project of its kind. Beyond education, the center also aims to serve as a cultural bridge between the two nations.

The opening ceremony brought together high-level participants from both countries, including: Andjela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Education of Montenegro; Barış Kalkavan, Turkish Ambassador to Podgorica; Genci Nimanbegu, Mayor of Ulcinj; Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, Chairwoman of the T3 Foundation; Uğur Tanyeli, Director at TİKA; Nihal Ersoy, Coordinator of TİKA's Podgorica Office; and Abdürrahim Türker, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute Podgorica Office.

Speaking at the ceremony, Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır stated:
"This center has been specially designed to help children develop their imagination, nurture their curiosity, and gain teamwork skills. The children who will receive education here will experience the excitement of discovery, learn to develop creative solutions to problems, and begin to see science as a natural part of their lives."

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the delegation toured the science center, observed student activities, and engaged directly with the children.
Bilim Ülgün not only facilitates access to science and technology for children in Montenegro, but also stands as a strong symbol of Türkiye’s commitment to sharing its knowledge and experience across the region.
