Science Journey Continues: Our Second Stop in Azerbaijan is Bilim Quba!

Bilim Quba, established in cooperation with the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and ASAN Xidmət in Quba, Azerbaijan, was opened with an official ceremony.

Bilim Quba, established in the city of Quba, Azerbaijan through the collaboration of the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and ASAN xidmət, was officially inaugurated with a ceremony.

Based on Turkey’s "Bilim Türkiye" (Science Turkey) model, the center aims to introduce children aged 6 to 14 to science and technology at an early age. Through hands-on workshops, the center seeks to nurture students' scientific curiosity and enhance their skills in technology production. Bilim Quba is the second such center to open in Azerbaijan, following the establishment of Bilim Baku.

The opening ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests from both brotherly nations, including Chairperson of the T3 Foundation Board of Directors Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, Head of Quba Executive Authority İlqar Mahmudov, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ambassador to Baku Ufuk Turganer, Turkish Education Counsellor in Baku Yurdagül Aydoğan, Presidential Communications Advisor Cihangir İşbilir, Defence Industry Presidency Advisor İlker Türköz, ASELSAN Baku Director Özgür Kürüm, TİKA Baku Program Coordination Office Coordinator Hayrettin Özçelik, TUSAŞ Baku Director Uğur Gulan, and Roketsan Azerbaijan CEO Mehmet Ali Tahancıo, among others. After the ceremony, attendees toured the laboratory areas and were briefed on the educational content to be delivered at the center. The delegation also visited activity zones, observed student projects on-site, and engaged with the children to hear their thoughts on their work.

During her speech at the opening, Chairperson of the Board of Directors Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır stated: “The stronger the roots of a tree, the lusher and more powerful its leaves will be. Just like the roots of a tree, the starting point of this ecosystem is our Bilim Türkiye project. I truly believe that future scientists, technology leaders, and engineers will be raised in science centers all across the Turkic world, and the youth trained here will develop technologies for the benefit of all humanity.”

As part of the program, a total of 80 students participated in workshops held in five different laboratories at Bilim Quba. Through the DENEYAP Maker Labs, Design and Production, Mathematics, Nature, and Astronomy laboratories, students engaged directly with science across a broad spectrum—from technology to natural sciences, from mathematics to space exploration. These experiences not only enhanced their scientific awareness but also encouraged creativity and productivity.

The Bilim Quba Center stands as a concrete example of scientific cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, reflecting a shared vision for future generations. Aiming to cultivate the scientists of tomorrow, the center reinforces the strong fraternal ties between the two countries through education and technology.
