National Technology Summit Launched with Its First Stop at Nişantaşı University

Hosted for the first time by Istanbul Nişantaşı University, the National Technology Summit brought together academia, industry, and youth, shedding light on the future of the domestic defense ecosystem.

Organized in collaboration with the T3 Foundation – TEKNOFEST Club and Istanbul Nişantaşı University, and coordinated by the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS), the “National Technology Summit – The Future of the Domestic Defense Ecosystem” was held with great interest and participation.

With over 2,000 applications, the conference halls were filled to capacity, reflecting strong engagement from students. The summit brought together academia, industry representatives, and young participants on a common platform for knowledge and experience sharing.

The opening speeches were delivered by Muhammet Saymaz, Member of the Board of Trustees of the T3 Foundation; Erkut Kalkavan, Istanbul Provincial Coordinator of the T3 Foundation; and Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komşuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu, Rector of Istanbul Nişantaşı University.

The panel, moderated by Prof. Dr. Murat Türk, featured distinguished speakers including Prof. Dr. Uğur Yozgat, Barış Elçin (TEI), Tamer Ayar (SSB), Serdar Gökdemir (TUSAŞ), and Doğan Varlı (HAVELSAN). The session addressed key topics such as the domestic and national defense industry, Türkiye’s technological advancements, and career opportunities for young people.

Throughout the summit, students had the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals, gaining valuable insights for their future careers. The event also featured a Mehter band performance and traditional folk dances, while Kirpi-2 and Kobra-2 armored vehicles were exhibited for participants.

This journey, which began with the “National Technology Summit,” enabled ideas to grow, questions to deepen, and goals to become clearer. By hosting one of the first stages of the summit, Istanbul Nişantaşı University has further strengthened its position among the leading universities within the TEKNOFEST ecosystem.
