Selçuk Bayraktar Chairman of the Board of Trustees

Selçuk Bayraktar, the architect of Turkey’s first indigenous operational UAV Systems, was born in 1979 in Istanbul-Sarıyer. He completed high school at Robert College and university at ITU. He has two different master's degree, one from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and the other from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), where he worked as a research assistant with the invitation and scholarships he received from the USA.


He has been working as a Technology Leader (CTO) at Baykar since 2007. He led the national and original development of Bayraktar Mini UAV, Bayraktar TB2 Tactical Armed UAV and Bayraktar AKINCI, which have been exported to numerous countries and added to their inventory. Currently, he is carrying out the projects of CEZERİ, Turkey's first flying car, Bayraktar TB3 that will land and take off on carriers with short runways, and Bayraktar KIZILELMA (Combat Unmanned Aircraft System), which will be Turkey's unmanned combat aircraft. Despite the COVID-19 epidemic that affected the world in December 2019, he pioneered the work of domestic respirators developed by BIOSYS, BAYKAR, ASELSAN and ARÇELİK in Turkey.


Selçuk Bayraktar who was awarded with the Karabakh Order of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2021 because of the Bayraktar TB2 Tactical Armed UAVs' contribution to the liberation of Karabakh from the occupation of Armenia, is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3), of which he is the founder. Bayraktar, who married Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar in 2016 and has a child, has a private pilot license.
