We are a group of young entrepreneurs and professionals who believe that it is inevitable for Türkiye to realize the National Technology Initiative in order to raise its voice for a better world and to be one of developed societies in terms of economy and life quality.
Ömer Kökçam was born in Erzurum in 1986. He completed his primary and secondary education in the same city, graduating as the valedictorian of İkizdere Anatolian Imam Hatip High School.
In 2011, he graduated with honors from Maltepe University under a dual major program, earning bachelor's degrees in both Public Relations & Publicity and Sociology. He subsequently completed his Master’s degree with honors in Sociology at the same institution.
He went on to receive a second Master’s degree in Civil Society Management from Istanbul Medeniyet University. He accomplished his third Master’s degree in Public Administration at Marmara University with his thesis titled "The Role of Municipalities in Science and Society Activities: The Case of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality."
Throughout his academic years and professional career, he developed and managed numerous projects within the scope of European Union education and youth programs under the Turkish National Agency, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and various development agencies. The projects he directed have been recognized with multiple national and international awards.
Between 2013 and 2019, he served as the Founding President of the alumni association for his high school. He was also part of the founding management team of the Turkiye Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) Istanbul Provincial Representation, serving as the Provincial Vice President until November 2016.
He began his professional career in 2012 at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) as a Sociologist and Project Coordinator, going on to hold various managerial roles until 2017.
He served until July 22, 2023, as a Board Member and the Founding General Manager of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation)—the pioneering non-governmental organization of the National Technology Initiative established on December 16, 2016. Concurrently, he served as an Executive Board Member and the Founding Secretary General of TEKNOFEST Aerospace, Space and Technology Festival, the world's largest technology festival.
Having served as the President of TÜBİTAK Science and Society since July 2023, Ömer Kökçam currently continues his duties as a Member of the T3 Foundation Board of Trustees and the Chairman of the Executive Board of DENEYAP Turkiye Makers Labs, an initiative he co-founded.
He is married and is the father of three children.
